We picked up this box of shirts in May 2010, our first batch of shirts ! We opted for the full color logo and used real flake for the first time ! We were pretty stoked with 'em, too bad they're all long gone, we didn't even took one ourselves....so if you have one, hold on to it ! It's probably one of just 25 made !

Nothing really changed in the last year and a half, as said before, we're a small independent garage and like to keep it low-key, so every batch of shirts we make is still limited to 50 shirts max, and since they're sent all around the globe you can be pretty sure you've got something nobody else has....and it's all about setting yourself apart from the masses right !?

Some more progress in the new garage. While hauling all of our shit around we realized we have about 9 projects in the works, we're trying so hard to turn our ideas into reality sometimes we feel we bit off a bit more than we can chew, and while investing time and money in merchandise, machinery, parts and travelling to shows our own bikes always come last, we wanna ride too !
You have to realize we all three have a full daytime job and have to tinker in the evenings or weekends....but no complaining ! The fun we have, the people we meet, the places we go to and all the partying make this whole FlakeKing-adventure worth every minute, thank you for that !

Yesterday afternoon we arrived at the Madeira Drive Opening party in Dusseldorf. We didn't arrive empty-handed; a FlakeKings Golden Brown Box with handdrawn art by San-the-Man.

Hagen sure hit the jackpot in an old gas station shop.

A short stop at a the local Schnitzel-Palace together with Keith and Rob from Eat Dust, great atmosphere, german pancakes as dessert was the wrong pick though....

On the way back we stumbled on another present for Hagen and his crew, this thing was fuckin' heavy and took the 5 of us to haul it back to the shop.

So, we picked these up half an hour ago; our handsome Mr. FK logo wearing a Gold-Flake and a Blue-Flake helmet this time. And yes, that's real automotive metalflake on them shirts ! Won't peel or crack (because there's a secret amount of body fluid in that ink from all three of us )!

We're sober, the wheeeee-noise in our ears is (almost) gone, slept all sunday and found all friends that were missing in the late night crowd.
We watched and listened the Hookers play ('all that is angry in this world united on one stage' as our buddy Polle described it !) the Reverend Horton Heat, Pentagram, Peter Pan Speedrock, Monster Magnet, the Dwarves and much more....phew! And celebrated one of the Kings birthday as well !

We asked our good friend and let's say 'fourth FlakeKing' San-the-Man to draw us a flyer to give to a select group of friends who helped us along in the past year.

We knew his skills wouldn't dissapoint us because he's responsible for all of our artwork but he really outdid himself this time !
San-the-Man sketched, erased, started over, cursed and skribbled until his fingers bled and the bags under his eyes turned dark-purple...but when he showed us the final result our jaws dropped and we decided there and then this was too nice to turn into a give-away flyer, it just wouldn't do all the detail justice, we needed to go big !

So here you have it; a very limited series of screen printed lowbrow art, pitch-black ink on heavy aquarel paper ! There's so much detail in this drawing you'll have to take a chair and sit down to discover it all.

They're laying out to dry and have yet to be signed and numbered but will be up for sale in the next few weeks.
We owe Paul 'Cpt. Morgan' a big one too for helping us out with his screen printing skills and for using his equipment...ehrr, printing equipment that is. Thanks guys, both of you, we'll take you down to our mutual favorite bar as much as you like !
